Dear Donald
I was very glad to get you letter. I had figured to think you had but me off your list. I am glad to know you are keeping well. I rec'd a card from Leone saying she was in bed with the flue. I'm afraid she won't let me know if she should get real sick. She says she is not very sick and not much temperature.
I'm living here at the Franklin and I want you to see me on your way home. Don't worry about what you are going to do when you are out of the service. Everything will turn out all right. You have never loafed very much. there are lots of overseas boys here who lost some of their limbs. I think you will enjoy a visit here for awhile. You have no doubt heard that Jim [McGhee ?] gave his life in France.
I am getting along her quite well. I have met lots of nice men and I think I am going to like the work. Everything is new, but I think I will get along fairly well. If you should get here during the day don't hesitate to come over and bust right into the house chamber. A resolution was adopted making the soldier boys privilege characters around the Capital building so don't be bashful. If we should be in session when you come, my desk is 74 so you can find me easily. I am might glad you are coming.
If you can let me know when you will arrive I will try and meet you.
