Dear Friend Mac,
Just a few lines to let you know Ramsey and I are well and working again. Hoping all the Boys & yourself of the 70th are the same.
I had a H-ll of a time on our trip here - three days at Cincinnati, Ohio, one day at Asheville N.C. near Ramsey's Home or rather where his home was once.
He and I are getting to be good Pals always together. They all call us the twins. Boy Gee! He is a good fellow. He is now sitting on the other side of the table writing a letter.
They put us in the 363rd M.G. Bn first then transferred to the 384th Inf. M. G. Co. and they have no men so we are both in the Infantry drilling a squad, there are only a few men and about two shave-tails to each enlisted man Real (not) shave-tails.
I thought I was coming to the Sunny South. Boy if you are still at Funston you have a home. We are in tents and it is cold here. We have to have all the sides rolled up all night. Last night it rained & the wind blew. I never woke up till morning and everything was wet. I was nearly drowned. Three of the Boys died this week.
I guess this camp will get discharged. I think I will get one. I am only in for duration of War. It can't come any too soon for me. Say write at once and give an account of yourself and the Boys.
