In 1949, Ralph and Dorothea Wallace bought the home and Ralph lived there until his death in the 1990s.  Ralph started his own engineering practice in 1948 after completing his military service in World War II.  Over the next few years, he was joined by several partners to form Wallace Holland Kastler Schmitz & Co., now WHKS & Co.  His second wife, Muriel "Queenie" Wallace, a nurse, ran "Parents United" out of the home for many years until she died in 2015.
